Welcome to the website of Carson F. Ball. I'm not sure how you stumbled across this site, but thanks for visiting.
I am currently in the process of copying anything worth keeping from my old site (humor, software I've written, etc.) so check back in a few weeks and there is likely to be more content.
Checkout the software page if you want to see FOSS projects that I've worked on. Or take a look at my interests and dev tools that I like as I didn't know where else to put them. Finally, the history section shows some of my mistakes from the past.
The last version of the site was a bit bland looking. This one might be a bit flashy, but I think it's a nice change and the layout isn't cluttered.

This, the newest version of my personal site, has launched. The last version had very dated information and I was bored of the look. As noted above, I am still in the process of getting the content back up. Some of the old content will probably end up on independent sites rather than being on my main site. Also, the layout is still being tweaked a bit.
Unlike the last version of the site, though, this new version is responsive and elements move around to become more readable on smaller screens. This is working in my tests, but - obviously - I can't test on every possible device.
I have just released a program to create images of the last songs a user listened to in a format suitable for including on websites. Currently, only Last.fm is supported, but - through plugins - other online services, local databases, flat files, or antyhing else can be used. You can find it on the software page. Or, you can see it in action on the interests page.

I intend to link to other sites that I've created over the next couple of weeks. A few of these need some serious work before I can link to them. For instance, my hosting provider performed some upgrades and now some assets are no longer loading properly.
